We’re polishing up our Italian pronunciation for a new four-part version of Ennio Morricone’s beautiful melody, based on Gabriel’s theme from the 1986 film The Mission.
There’s some controversy about who wrote the Italian words, but it seems likely it was musicals star Sarah Brightman (rather different from her lead vocals on StarShip Trooper or as a Hot Gossip dancer, but there you go).
Here’s a link to her YouTube introduction and performance – we will be emulating the floatiness of her vocal, but not her dress sense! (sorry Sarah) 🙂
