Here’s a testimonial from Thursday night’s gig with Sudbury Gainsborough Women’s Institute:
‘I just wanted to say thank you for entertaining my WI on Thursday evening. The feedback has been really positive about your groups performance and I for one really enjoyed it.Not only did you all look elegant and professional but you all sounded wonderful. I looked around the room and saw women reliving their childhoods with Mary Poppins and their teenage years with the other songs. Thank you all so very much it was such fun.’
Last night we had the pleasure of singing with over 80 members of Sudbury and district Womens Institute groups at their annual get together in Sudbury Town Hall.
After a warm up and a three part round based on Swing Low Sweet Chariot, we had a sing along to our Mary Poppins Medley, and then sang some swing, 60s and 70s tunes, wrapping up with Stop by the Spice Girls. Our rendition of Nella Fantasia reduced one WI lady to tears – fortunately they were good tears!
We were asked to judge the Keep Our Rural Buses jingle competition, giving first prize to an eye-wateringly funny entry from Melford WI. More signatures are needed to help the County Council change its mind about cutting bus services to our towns and villages, sign here: Save Our Buses
Finally, here’s Emma R enjoying a well earned cuppa last night:

This photo is from last night’s Polstead WI centenary celebration, where we debuted ‘Jerusalem’ – we may keep it on our song list to mix things up a bit!
We had a great time with other musicians from Sudbury a couple of weekends ago helping raise funds for the Rotary Chairman’s charities. More gigs are coming in too – we’ll keep you posted!
